Ben Forrester is…
a guitar player from New York. Coming from a music oriented family, he started playing guitar at a young age. From the very beginning he was attracted to Blues, Rock, and Soul music. Instantly becoming a student of the master playing of the genres history of guitar players including Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, and Warren Haynes to name a few, he learned from them to travel back through their influences and contemporaries. Enlisting many Blues albums from the Delta Blues to the British Invasion, the path broadened when more guitar players also sought inspiration from the old master such as Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and of course the Three Kings - B.B, Albert, and Freddie, to more modern contemporaries like Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, and Derek Trucks. Digging deeper, he found himself pulling from classic Soul and R&B within the Stax, Motown, and Atlantic catalogues.
In learning through listening and playing music, Ben has tried to bring an organic sound back into music. Being a student of improvisational playing has given him the chance to play with a more adapted style. Thus putting the focus on letting the music breathe and playing for the moment, emotion, and inspiration.
Aside from touring with his Rock band with Josh Allen (Allen-Forrester Band), you can also see Ben on tours with players such as Jade MacRae (Joe Bonamassa/Jimmy Barnes), Stone Water, Jonah Smith, Seafoam Green, Marvin Scondo, or Paulie Cerra.
Taking it a step further in early 2019, Ben has launched a new Tour Booking & Management company, EBF Music, with the focus on helping independent artists play Europe with the help of booking tours, supplying a tour-ready pick-up band, and getting their music on the road.
